First Transmission

You're reading this, which means the signal got through. That's something.

LORN has been on the air for a while now — music, news, whatever we feel like — but this is the first time we're putting words down somewhere they might last a little longer than a broadcast cycle. Call it a log. Call it a record. Call it something to do on a slow rotation when the reactor's humming and there's nothing that needs fixing.

We're a small crew at a small station at L5. There are maybe a few hundred people within an hour's transit of us, a few thousand more scattered across the cluster, and then the rest of you — on the Moon, on Mars, out in the belt, maybe further. We broadcast for all of you. We broadcast because someone should.

More transmissions to follow. Stay on frequency.
